I would like to do a Shout Out for Bear and Gen Davis of Medicare Bear!!! I was lucky enough to meet them just as I reached Medicare age! I am forever grateful for that fact!  I have found that as one ages, navigating an entire new system, understanding the lingo unique to that system, comparing plans, and getting to that finish line of signing up can be overwhelming.  In my case Bear and Gen came to my home and walked me through understanding many of the different options I had! I am not extremely tech savvy and they helped me go to the Medicare website and look at the comparison of options that I had.  Quite honestly I would have been lost without them.  They are a team with a lot of experience and knowledge to help people.  Another of the reasons I am so thankful for them is that they talk to you like a real person that they have known for years rather than strictly making it feel like a business venture. They give you examples from their own life experiences.  I have found that every year they check new plans that they work with to see if there are any that would save me money and give me more medical resources.  In fact, I received a call from them this year and they have been able to find a new plan for me that will put $40 more a month in my pocket from Social Security, greatly increase my dental benefits, give me a $750.00 Spend Card that I can use on dental, glasses, or hearing aids over and above the amounts the plan pays in those areas, among other perks beyond what my current plan gave me. In this age of inflation, I’m impressed!  I am getting ready for a surgery in January.  They have been very quick to get back to me on questions relating to being ready to go with my new insurance for 2023. When I retired in 2016, I was overwhelmed by all the salespeople attempting to sign me up on their Medicare plans. My husband and I met Barry and Genny Davis more than three years ago when we were invited to their informational seminar on Medicare in Spring Hill. I was approaching my 65 birthday and was needing to make decisions soon about my health insurance as a newly retired person. We had been inundated by mailers from many insurance companies and their sales people to attend “free, no obligation lunch seminars” and to be honest, I’m not quite sure why we ultimately picked Barry & Genny’s . We are certainly glad we did! Their presentation was very easy to understand and they broke down the ABC’s of original Medicare and the Medicare Advantage programs. Although Ron & I consider ourselves fairly intelligent people, the Medicare choices are simply quite confusing. Barry & Genny helped us navigate through all of it. After the seminar Barry came to our home to help me make my Medicare decision. It was clear to me that he was more concerned about my health and being covered by an insurance plan that best fit my needs rather than making the best commission for himself. He also explained that spouses frequently think they should both sign up for the same program when they each have different and unique health issues and concerns. Over the past three years he has continued to be there with any questions we have had. When Ron was turning 65, Barry met with him one-on-one as well. We appreciate that he is so knowledgeable and up to date with all Medicare changes.
